The fellow will have attending staff privileges at all three sites and shares the call schedule with the faculty. A typical call frequency is approximately 1 week per 14 weeks. The first call goes to a 泌尿外科 resident team. The Fellow will have reconstructive faculty back up as well as readily available support and expertise of entire 泌尿外科 department.

Operating and Clinic Schedule

The fellow is expected to be in the operating room 3-4 days per week which will include at least one operative day per 1-2 weeks with cases scheduled from the Fellow’s clinic. Under supervision of faculty, Fellow will progress through steps of each reconstructive operation to being able to complete each operation independently. With increased skill and experience, the Fellow is expected to begin instructing Residents to perform these procedures. Fellow will attend reconstructive faculty clinics 1-2 times per week. On a typical clinic day 2-3 members of the reconstructive faculty share a large clinic space thus allowing Fellow to participate in the workup and follow up of the most diverse reconstructive cases. Fellow is also expected to have his or her independent clinic 1-2 times per month which will allow for scheduling independent surgical cases.

教学

Fellow will help residents preparing for relevant case presentations at the weekly Preoperative Indications Conferences and other recurring conferences including Journal Club, 研究 Conference and Complications (M&米)会议. 作为外科医生, a Fellow is expected educating residents on preoperative patient preparation and coaching surgical skills for performing reconstructive surgery and general urology operations.
